About Us: Who We Are and How We Test

Ezra Agro is an independent car journal. Practical guides for people who drive, maintain and occasionally upgrade their own cars, written by people who pay for their parts.

Who we are

We are a small group of writers, mechanics and long-distance commuters who got tired of advice written for a showroom instead of a driveway. Ezra Agro started as a shared service log between friends who kept asking the same question: what actually needs doing, and what can wait?

Today the site reaches readers planning a service, choosing a dash cam, fitting a home charger or preparing a first track day. We are independent, we take no sponsored placements, and the whole archive stays free to read.

Our mission

Our mission is simple: give drivers the information a good mechanic would give them, in language that does not require a workshop manual. Every week we publish free guides across five sections: Car Tech, Maintenance, Performance, Electric Cars and Driving Tips. Real 2026 costs, tested habits and the trade-offs that matter before you spend.

We would rather tell you to skip an upgrade than pad a list to fill it. If three checks prevent most breakdowns, we name three, not thirteen.

Editorial standards

No sponsored picks and no pay-to-rank lists. We buy at retail what we test, disclose any relationship, and correct mistakes in public within 48 hours. Figures come from our own invoices, manufacturer schedules and public safety bodies, never from a press release alone. If a product or a habit fails in real use, we say so.

When we recommend a service interval or a part, we explain the trade-off: a track pad that squeals on cold mornings, a charger that needs a supply upgrade, a tyre that grips well but wears fast. The caveat is part of the guide.

The team

  • Ezra Agro Desk, editor and lead writer, fifteen years of daily driving and DIY servicing.
  • Mara Voss, car tech and electrical systems, formerly a workshop diagnostics technician.
  • Tomas Reid, maintenance and tyres, a mechanic with a fleet background.
  • Nadia Rahman, electric vehicles and charging, an installation project manager.
  • Ben Okafor, performance and track preparation, a club-level instructor.

Supported by contributing testers who review every guide before it ships. If a claim does not hold up in the workshop or on the road, it does not go out under our name.

Talk to us

Corrections, questions or a part we should test? Email us at [email protected], or use the contact page. We reply within one business day, and we read every message, even when we cannot feature every one.

If you are planning work on the car, start with the Maintenance section or our guide to a realistic 12-month maintenance calendar.

Where we cite standards or safety advice, we point readers to public bodies such as NHTSA and the IIHS, alongside our own workshop reporting.
